A well-known weak point here is the original BMW front carrier: under heavy load, this can break – sometimes with serious consequences. The entire front end then loses its support, cables can snap, and instruments can be damaged. Even safety-critical failures are not uncommon. Repairing it on the road is usually virtually impossible.
