The current boxer GS has been at the top of the touring Enduro segment for four decades now. And there is every reason to believe that the new BMW R 1300 GS will once again permanently occupy this top position. Universal, powerful, sporty, emotional - all the attributes that made its predecessors so successful, the new model has too. On the basis of the latest technologies, the BMW developers have transposed the proven GS concept into the present – and also to a certain extent into the future. After just a few test rides by the Touratech development crew, it was clear that the R 1300 GS would once again be the first choice for adventures big and small. And with corresponding vigour, the professionals set about creating an extensive range of accessories for the 1300. From protection and luggage transport to ergonomics, all aspects of customisation are covered by the model-specific portfolio. At the big test ride in Thailand, numerous products have already been able to impressively demonstrate their practicality.

LUGGAGE TRANSPORT
Even though the R 1300 GS is convincing in many areas of use, most customers naturally want to take it on tour. Be it a short trip, an extended holiday or a really big adventure. Accordingly, Touratech has developed an extensive range of luggage transport solutions - especially for the new GS! These include aluminium case systems from the ZEGA Evo, ZEGA Pro and ZEGA Mundo series. The aluminium cases are mounted on an extensively optimised and enhanced Touratech stainless steel carrier, which has been tried and tested hundreds of thousands of times. This carrier is also used to attach the new soft bags from the Endurance, Travel and Extreme Edition lines. Of course, there is also a matching carrier for the ZEGA Topases. The most classic piece of motorbike luggage should not be missing: The tank bag! And this is available in different versions in the Travel and Touring ranges. Additional luggage can be stowed in the practical boot lid bags, in the handlebar bag or in the model-specific bags for attachment to the crash bars.
PROTECTION
Protectors are not just a good investment when the tarmac disappears in the rear-view mirror. The Touratech portfolio for the BMW R 1300 GS includes the robust Expedition engine guard made of folded aluminium, an ultra-robust engine crash bar, the newly developed Street engine crash bar with sanding pad, a reinforcement strut for the original BMW engine guard, a fairing crash bar, radiator guard, headlight guard and much more.
ERGONOMICS
Numerous Touratech parts make it possible to customise the ergonomics of the R 1300 GS. For example, the handlebar risers, available in two versions, enable more relaxed riding when standing, which is perfectly complemented by the wide long-distance footrests. The windscreen, available in different heights and tints, ensures improved aerodynamics. Touratech comfort seat benches will soon be available for the new GS, taking long-distance suitability to a whole new level.
